20-year-old manager now runs $5m

Julian Marchese, 20, left New York University last year to focus on his hedge fund, Marchese Investments. In September, he said he was managing about $1m and planning to raise $3m more.

According to Business Insider, he now manages $5m.

Blue Tower up 45.35% since 2014 launch

Blue Tower believes that humans and computers are complements not competitors and thus applies advanced analytics to classic value investing.The Blue Tower Global Value strategy returned 15.93% gross of fees in Q3 2016 (15.61% net) and for 2016 year-to-date, it has returned 28.44% gross of fees (27.42% net). Since inception in Jan 2014, the fund is up 45.35% net.

In this Q3 investor letter, Oskoui points out that "this has been the best quarter, performance-wise, for the strategy and comes on the heels of what was the previous best quarter. One of our investments which has been successful for us has been Tyson Foods."

Half Sky has gathered employees
