SAC veteran Paul Orwicz joins Deimos A.M. as managing director and portfolio manager

Deimos Asset Management LLC, a multi-strategy hedge fund manager, announced that Paul Orwicz had joined the firm as a Managing Director and Portfolio Manager. In this role, Orwicz is focused on building and managing a portfolio of technology, media and telecommunications (TMT) investments.Orwicz is a 13-year veteran of SAC Capital and Point 72. He also managed assets at Sursum Capital, an independent firm which he ran from 2009 to 2011.

Deimos Asset Management LLC is a multi-manager global hedge fund management company located in Purchase, N.Y. Deimos' portfolio management groups invest under a variety of fundamental and quantitative strategies. Deimos was formed through a management buyout of Guggenheim Global Trading, LLC, the former multi-manager, multi-strategy hedge fund platform of Guggenheim Partners. The acquisition was completed on January 31, 2015.

Chris Rokos hires Nomura economist Cailloux before hedge fund startup

Chris Rokos, a former top trader at Brevan Howard Asset Management, hired economist Jacques Cailloux from Nomura Holdings Plc to help start his new hedge fund, Bloomberg reported. Cailloux, who took over as Nomura's chief European economist in 2012, will join later this year as head of macro research.

Rokos, 44, is recruiting as he converts his family office with pledges from outside investors. BorislavVladimirov, a former colleague at Brevan Howard, and Stuart Riley, who used to work as Asia-Pacific co-head of macro trading at Goldman Sachs Group Inc., bot......................
