Fasanara Capital brings on Stefano Blotto as advisor

Saturday, October 31, 2026
Opalesque Industry Update - Fasanara Capital, the technology-led global alternative asset manager with $7.5 billion in assets under management as of October 2026, is pleased to announce the appointment of Stefano Blotto as Senior Advisor to the CEO, Global Strategic Relationships. Stefano will also join Fasanara's Advisory Board.

Based in London, Stefano will work closely with Fasanara Founder and CEO Francesco Filia and the wider leadership team, supporting the firm's engagement with strategic institutional relationships globally as Fasanara continues to expand its international investor base and investment platform.

Stefano brings more than 35 years of experience in international banking spanning senior relationship management, institutional sales, fixed income and financial technology. Most recently, he spent 15 years at BNP Paribas in London, where he led firmwide senior coverage for the world's largest asset managers, hedge funds, pension funds and other investors globally.

From 2015 to 2023, Stefano served as Global Head of Investors within BNP Paribas' Financial Institutions Coverage division, before becoming Head of EMEA Investors. Earlier in his career he held several leadership roles across the Fixed Income Division at Merrill Lynch International in London over a 12-year tenure, including Co-Head of Fixed Income Sales Europe, Head of Fixed Income e-Commerce and Fixed Income Country Head for Italy. His institutional background also includes senior sales roles at Credit Suisse First Boston in Milan and Goldman Sachs International in London.

On his appointment, Stefano said: "I am excited to join Francesco Filia and the Fasanara team as Senior Advisor. Francesco and I have known each other for more than 20 years, since our time together at Merrill Lynch, and I have great respect for what Fasanara has achieved under his leadership, establishing itself as an innovative, technology-led alternative asset manager.

"I look forward to drawing on my experience in senior relationship management, institutional client coverage and fintech to support the firm's continued growth and help deepen its strategic relationships with institutions globally."

Stefano currently also serves as a Business Advisor to Axyon AI, a predictive artificial intelligence fintech focused on financial markets, a role he will continue alongside his work with Fasanara. He holds a Master's degree in Economics from Bocconi University and has completed executive programmes in sustainable finance at Cambridge Judge Business School.

Francesco Filia, CEO and Founder of Fasanara Capital, said: "I have known Stefano for more than two decades and have seen first-hand the depth of experience, judgement and relationships he has developed across global financial markets. He has spent his career working with some of the world's largest and most sophisticated institutional investors, combining a deep understanding of their needs with experience across markets, technology and financial innovation.

"As Fasanara continues to grow internationally, Stefano's perspective and network will be extremely valuable in helping us deepen our strategic relationships with institutions globally. I am delighted to welcome him to the firm and to our Advisory Board."
