S&P Global and Maestro Partner partner on private equity solution

Tuesday, August 19, 2025
Opalesque Industry Update - S&P Global and Maestro, the leading Value Creation Management platform for private equity and a S&P Global Ventures portfolio company, have announced a strategic partnership to deliver enhanced portfolio monitoring capabilities for private equity firms and their portfolio companies. This partnership includes a native integration of the Maestro platform with S&P Global's iLEVEL portfolio monitoring system, enabling automated data entry and streamlined measurement of value creation initiatives.

By combining iLEVEL's financial data infrastructure with Maestro's data and workflows, private equity firms can measure the impact of their value creation initiatives, identify the highest-yielding value levers and improve transparency between sponsors and portfolio management teams. This enables firms to directly attribute revenue growth, cost optimization and margin expansion to specific value creation activities, accelerating decision-making.

"From the beginning, iLEVEL has been committed to growing the flow of data analytics and insights between private capital market participants," said Chris Sparenberg, Head of iLEVEL at S&P Global Market Intelligence. "This partnership brings integrated solutions to market that increase visibility into how value creation initiatives impact portfolio company performance, ultimately driving better decision-making and trusted insights from portfolio companies to GPs to LPs."

"As driving operational alpha becomes increasingly central to private equity investing, firms are actively seeking end-to-end solutions that tightly integrate portfolio monitoring with value creation operations and execution; this partnership represents a significant market moment," said Prasanth Ramanand, CEO of Maestro. "S&P Global iLEVEL has long been regarded as the industry leader for portfolio monitoring. This partnership delivers the scalable, data-driven infrastructure that private equity firms need to create measurable impact, faster."

Maestro clients demonstrated an almost 4x fundraising advantage in the last 2 years, with 75% raising capital compared to the 20% industry average. As the first platform to bring investors and their portfolio-company management teams together to align, streamline and manage the value creation process, this partnership expands on that, empowering private equity firms with greater transparency, insight and coordination with their portfolio companies.

The integration is already available for mutual customers and is seeing traction with leading firms, including Bregal Sagemount.

"The integration between iLEVEL and Maestro has greatly improved visibility into operational performance across the portfolio. It has enabled us to work smarter and faster, with less time spent on data manipulation and more on driving business growth," said Ben Willis, Operating Principal at Bregal Sagemount.

S&P Global Ventures brings the breadth and depth of S&P Global's product offering and deep domain expertise to assist companies as they continue to grow. As an S&P Global Ventures company, Maestro has carved a path as an innovator, an industry leader and a category creator that recognized and filled an unmet need among value-focused private equity and venture capital firms.
