Morrison Foerster adds private equity partner

Thursday, July 31, 2025
Opalesque Industry Update - Morrison Foerster, a leading global law firm, is pleased to announce the addition of David D'Souza, who joins the firm as partner in its Private Equity Group. His arrival expands the firm's private equity offering in London and continues Morrison Foerster's ongoing strategic investment in its global Private Equity practice.

With more than 15 years of experience, D'Souza advises international and domestic private equity houses, financial sponsors, their portfolio companies and management teams on a wide range of matters, including leveraged buyouts, acquisitions and disposals, growth equity transactions, shareholder and management incentive arrangements, joint ventures, restructurings, and refinancings.

"Adding an experienced private equity partner of David's caliber and investing in our global Private Equity team is an important element of our growth strategy," said Eric McCrath, chair of Morrison Foerster. "His arrival, closely following that of Ambarish Dash, represents another significant investment in our London office and underscores our commitment to building on our strengths in a key market for us."

Patrick Huard, global co-chair of Morrison Foerster's Private Equity Group, said: "David's broad experience, advising UK, U.S., and other international private equity clients, particularly sponsors and investors, will expand our global mid-market private equity platform even further, as we support clients worldwide, leveraging our capabilities across different geographies and markets to offer an integrated team across our global network."

"I am delighted to be joining Morrison Foerster, a firm with an exceptional offering for middle market private equity sponsors," said D'Souza. "I look forward to collaborating with colleagues across Morrison Foerster's global network, working with fellow practitioners to deliver for clients in the tech, services, sustainability, and lifesciences/healthcare verticals-verticals where MoFo adds real value."

D'Souza's arrival follows the recent addition of Ambarish Dash as a Leveraged Finance partner in London in July 2025 and reflects continued strategic growth in Morrison Foerster's global Private Equity Group. Other recent additions include: Naoya Shiota (Tokyo), who joined the firm in June 2025; James Lee (New York) in April 2025; Xiaoxi Lin (Hong Kong) and Scott Jalowayski (Singapore) in January 2025; Greg Salathé (Tokyo) in June 2024; and Michael Vernace (San Francisco) in February 2024.

D'Souza joins Morrison Foerster from an international law firm. He is regularly recommended by legal directories and rankings and holds an LL.B. from the University of Durham.
