Piper Sandler expands private capital advisory team

Monday, June 30, 2025
Opalesque Industry Update - Piper Sandler Companies, a leading investment bank, is pleased to announce the addition of Andy Nick as managing director and co-head of secondary capital advisory within the private capital advisory group. Nick will work closely with private equity clients to provide bespoke liquidity and capital solutions, including GP-led continuation funds, fund recapitalizations, and LP portfolio transactions.

"Andy is a highly respected advisor with deep relationships across the private equity ecosystem and has a strong track record of delivering thoughtful, strategic secondary solutions. His addition reflects our continued investment in the private markets and enhances our ability to serve clients across the full lifecycle of fund management, specifically as it relates to our GP continuation vehicle capabilities," said Ryan Schlitt, global head of private capital advisory at Piper Sandler.

Nick brings over 20 years of experience in private capital markets, with a focus on advising general partners, limited partners, and institutional investors on complex secondary transactions. He joins the firm from Jefferies, where he was a managing director and played a key role in the founding and growth of the firm's secondary advisory practice. Previously, he held senior roles at Greenhill and Cogent Partners. Nick began his investment banking career at Citigroup after earning a bachelor's degree from Baylor University and a Master of Business Administration from Harvard Business School.

"I'm thrilled to join Piper Sandler to help grow the firm's secondary advisory capabilities. The firm's collaborative culture and commitment to private markets make it a compelling platform for delivering high-impact solutions to fund sponsors and investors," said Nick.
