Tuesday, May 27, 2025
Opalesque Industry Update - Bow River Capital, a Denver-based alternative asset manager, announced today that investment banking veteran Mark Hantho is joining the firm as Executive Chairman on September 8, 2025.

"The addition of Mark to the Bow River team strengthens our position as the premier investment management firm in the Rodeo Region," said Bow River Capital Founder & Chief Executive Officer Blair Richardson. "Mark's deep investment banking experience, thorough command of the capital markets and international reputation will strengthen Bow River's standing throughout the U.S. and beyond."

Mr. Hantho will join Bow River Capital's Executive Committee, which develops and executes the firm's strategy. "As a long-time Bow River investor, I have enormous respect for Bow River Capital and the business that Blair and his colleagues have built during the last 22 years," Mr. Hantho said. "I look forward to working with the leadership team to navigate the evolving alternative investment space."

Mr. Hantho brings more than 35 years of investment banking and capital markets experience to his role. Most recently, he was Vice Chairman, Banking, Capital Markets, and Advisory of Citi. Previously, he was Chairman of Deutsche Bank Securities, Inc., and Global Head of Equity Capital Markets at Deutsche Bank. Mr. Hantho served in similar roles at Bank of America Corporation and Morgan Stanley. He holds an MBA from IMD business school in Lausanne, Switzerland, and a Bachelor of Commerce from McGill University.
