Catalano joins Honigman in Chicago

Tuesday, December 31, 2024
Opalesque Industry Update - Honigman LLP announced today that it is growing its Chicago office with the addition of Richard "Richie" Catalano as a partner in the Transactions & Counseling Practice Group and Corporate Department. He joins the firm from Ballard Spahr.

Catalano focuses his practice on emerging companies and venture capital matters. His clients include global institutional investors, tax-exempt entities, start-ups, hedge funds, family offices, and private equity and venture capital firms. He has extensive experience with a wide array of transaction types, including equity financing rounds, and mergers and acquisitions and other commercial agreements, including licensing, NFT collaborations, technology sourcing, blockchain network, manufacturing and supply, and marketing agreements.

"Venture capital firms and emerging companies trust Richie with some of their most complex and important transactions because he's a skilled advisor with the depth of experience they need to see the deal through," said Kim Dudek, Chair of Honigman's Corporate Department. "As we see more momentum and activity in the deal market heading into 2025, Richie's unique skillset makes him a perfect fit for both the practice group and the firm. We're excited to have him join our team."

Outside of his venture capital experience, Catalano also handles corporate governance matters and frequently drafts and negotiates third-party vendor agreements.

Catalano earned a J.D. from Hofstra University and a B.A. from the State University of New York at Fredonia.
