GAM Investments expands US presence with new Miami office

Wednesday, October 23, 2024
Opalesque Industry Update - Global asset manager GAM Investments has announced the opening of its second US office in Miami, marking a significant expansion of its American operations. The move comes as the Swiss-based investment firm seeks to strengthen its presence in both US and Latin American markets.

The new Miami location, which complements GAM's existing New York office established in 1989, will serve as a strategic hub for the firm's growing international client base. The office will work in coordination with GAM's representations in Montevideo and Santiago de Chile to better serve clients across the Americas.

Leading the new Miami operation is Alejandro Moreno, who has relocated to South Florida to establish the office and head GAM's US International clients distribution team. The firm has also brought on industry veteran Charissa Pal as a business development manager. Pal joins GAM from Alliance Bernstein with 20 years of experience in asset management and brings extensive knowledge of international clients and their needs.

"We are delighted to announce the opening of our office in Miami, which reflects our long-term commitment to our clients," said Rossen Djounov, Global Head of Client Solutions at GAM. "Miami is a strategic location for us, as it allows us to be closer to our clients and provide them with tailored solutions and excellent service."

The choice of Miami reflects the city's growing importance as a financial center, particularly for Latin American, European, and US financial institutions serving international clients. The location will enable GAM to better deliver its sophisticated investment strategies across global markets, including equity, fixed income, multi-asset, and alternative investments.

GAM, founded in 1983 and headquartered in Zurich, currently manages CHF 19.0 billion in assets as of June 2024. The company maintains offices in 14 countries and serves clients across almost every continent, emphasizing its commitment to delivering distinctive and differentiated investment solutions.

The expansion into Miami represents GAM's latest step in strengthening its global presence and demonstrates its commitment to meeting the evolving needs of international investors through what it considers to be unique and benchmark-beating investment strategies.
