Tuesday, August 27, 2024
Opalesque Industry Update - International law firm Weil, Gotshal & Manges LLP announced today that private equity dealmaker Alice Yuan has joined the firm as a partner in the Private Equity Group, based in the Firm's new Los Angeles office.

"We are very pleased to welcome Alice as a key member of our growing Los Angeles private equity team," said Weil Executive Partner Barry Wolf. "She is an accomplished dealmaker and will be instrumental to our growth in California as we expand to meet the evolving needs of our current and future clients."

"Alice's experience advising leading sponsors and their portfolio companies across a wide range of transactions makes her an ideal partner for our West Coast expansion," said Michael J. Aiello, Chairman of Weil's global Corporate Department. "Her diverse experience will be vital in ensuring that our new Los Angeles office is positioned to advise clients across the full spectrum of private equity transactions."

"A longtime colleague and friend, Alice brings unparalleled commitment to professional excellence and client service to her practice," said Tana Ryan, Managing Partner of Weil's new Los Angeles office. "Her expertise across transaction types and industry verticals makes her an excellent addition to our newly opened Los Angeles office, and we are thrilled to welcome her to the Firm."

Alice joins from Massumi + Consoli LLP, where she was a partner in the private equity practice. She had previously been a partner at Kirkland & Ellis, where she worked closely with Tana Ryan, and served as Vice President of Corporate Development and Assistant General Counsel at j2 Global (now Ziff Davis and Consensus Cloud Solutions).

"I am excited to be joining Weil for this extraordinary opportunity to work with Tana again in the buildout of Weil's new office in Los Angeles," said Alice. "And I look forward to partnering with my fantastic new colleagues across all offices and practice areas."
