Derivative Path adds to team

Opalesque Industry Update - Derivative Path, a leading provider of capital markets technology and derivatives services to financial institutions and commercial end-users, names fintech product specialist, Kristin Kelly as Chief Product Officer (CPO) to lead the company's product development strategy and appoints its cofounder, Frank Purnell, to the prestigious role of the company's inaugural Chief Innovation Officer, effective immediately.

Kristin brings two decades of experience leading product development and strategy at high-growth trading and investment technology companies, most recently as Head of Product at Allvue and previously as Regional Head of Product Management at Fidessa Corporation (acquired by ION Group in 2018). In her new position as CPO at Derivative Path, Kristin will steer the company's product team, guiding the organization's expansive product portfolio and roadmap. Her primary focus will be on aligning the design and product teams with Derivative Path's quickly expanding business, ensuring seamless scaling to meet the company's rapid growth.

Kelly commented on her appointment, "Derivative Path has a remarkable offering and technology which have solidified it as a true market leader. Derivative Path co-founder, Frank Purnell is assuming the newly created role of Chief Innovation Officer at the company. With his wealth of expertise, Frank will play a central role in guiding Derivative Path's technology stack toward its cutting-edge NextGen platform. His experience and insights make him the linchpin in understanding the critical role of modernization within the capital markets industry, essential to meeting the evolving needs of Derivative Path's expanding and sophisticated client base. In his new position, Frank will leverage his deep technical and industry knowledge to bring DerivativeEDGE to a broader audience, further solidifying Derivative Path's position as a leader in the industry.

Purnell commented on his new role, "It has been very rewarding to apply my market experience in helping create dynamic new technology solutions that modernize derivatives trading to make it easier and more streamlined. In this new role, I look forward to bringing new features and products to market that expand access of revenue-generating derivatives and complex hedging activities to corporate and financial organizations of all sizes."

This announcement comes on the heels of Derivative Path inking deals to join the Jack Henry™ Vendor Integration Program, to integrate with Q2's digital banking platform, and last year's teaming with Goldman Sachs to deliver FX and global payments to US regional and community banks. The 2023 winner of Waters Ranking as Best Cloud-based Applications Provider complements its technology offerings with full derivatives trading program development and management advisory for financial institutions, private equity firms, and corporate clients.
