Investcorp's Strategic Capital Group adds to team

Tuesday, June 27, 2023
Opalesque Industry Update - Investcorp, a leading global alternative investment firm, announced an expansion of its Strategic Capital Group with the addition of two new senior hires. Timotheus Osnabrug and Weston Wilkinson will both join ISCG as Investment Partners, where they will be responsible for the sourcing, evaluation and execution of new investments, reporting to Anthony Maniscalco, Managing Partner and Head of ISCG.

ISCG is Investcorp's investment platform focused on acquiring minority equity stakes in established, high growth mid-sized private market asset managers. Tim and Wes will join ISCG following a period of significant growth for the business. The group manages over $1 billion of AUM and has closed on 11 investments since its launch in 2019, placing it among the most active GP stake investors in the industry. ISCG has partnered with GPs across buyout, structured equity, private credit, and real asset strategies.

"We are extremely proud of the success that our GP staking platform has enjoyed since its inception in 2019," said Rishi Kapoor, Co-Chief Executive Office of Investcorp. "We remain excited by our growth prospects as we continue to build out the team and identify talented mid-market GPs to partner with."

Tim will be joining the ISCG team in New York at the end of the month. Most recently, he led the North American business services and healthcare direct private equity investment platform at a major European-based private equity firm. Prior to that, Tim spent twelve years at KKR in several roles including buyout, growth and infrastructure investing in Europe, the US and Brazil. He started his career at Goldman Sachs.

Wes will be joining the ISCG team in New York later in 2023. Wes was most recently Co-Chief Investment Officer and Head of Investments at Azimut Alternative Capital Partners (Azimut Group's GP staking investment business). At Azimut, Wes sourced and executed multiple GP staking investments. Prior to that he was a director at Perella Weinberg Partners, where he was a senior member of the Firm's asset management business focused on corporate development. He started his career at Berkshire Global Advisors.

"We are excited to have Tim and Wes on our team. Tim brings extensive direct private equity investment experience as well as a broad GP network particularly in Europe. Wes offers our team significant experience sourcing and executing GP stake investments and a broad network across the private market landscape. We look forward to their contributions as we continue to build out and expand our differentiated platform," said Anthony Maniscalco, Managing Partner and Head of ISCG at Investcorp.

"The high-quality additions of Tim and Wes to the ISCG team are testament to both the growing strength of our GP staking platform as well as increasing interest and demand we are seeing for GP staking from the global institutional investor community. We look forward to expanding our investment portfolio as well as the support from current and prospective investors," said Laura Coquis, Global Head of Institutional Capital Raising at Investcorp.
