Opalesque Industry Update - Asia Genesis, a leading Singapore-based, global macro hedge fund manager, has appointed Cheryl
Chan as its Business Development, Partner. Cheryl will focus on developing and expanding the firm's outreach and investor base for private wealth and family offices. She will work with Jessica Quek, Head of Investor Relations, Partner who will focus on institutional investors, to drive assets growth for the firm's flagship fund, the Asia Genesis Macro Fund. The Fund's current investor base comprises mostly of institutional clients across Asia and Europe. Cheryl brings with her more than 20 years of experience in capital raising and investment banking. Prior to joining Asia Genesis, she was leading the effort on listing funds, debt, as well as pre-IPO equity issuers at ADDX, the global private market exchange. A former investment banker and previously based in Hong Kong for almost a decade, she worked in capital markets at UBS, Mizuho and Scotiabank, heading up capital markets teams that covered the Greater China and Southeast Asia regions. Cheryl began her career structuring and marketing interest rate derivatives in New York City with JP Morgan. She graduated with a dual degree in Finance and International Relations from the University of Pennsylvania.
