White Hat launches structured opportunities fund with Magnetar

Opalesque Industry Update - Technology investor White Hat Capital Partners LP has formed the White Hat Structured Opportunities LP (WHSO), an investment partnership with Magnetar Capital, to provide flexible financing solutions to public technology companies with market values up to $5 billion. WHSO will seek to provide structured investments of $50 to 200 million in mission-critical technology companies operating in high value markets.

"In light of tightening financial conditions and a challenging operating environment, we felt the timing was right to establish a fund dedicated to providing significant, customized financing solutions to enhance our hands-on approach to value creation," commented White Hat Managing Partners Dave Chanley and Mark Quinlan. They continued, "Based on our conversations with issuers, this is a much needed product offering and we believe the marketplace will welcome this capability at White Hat."

White Hat invests in mission critical semiconductor, services, software and systems companies serving high-value applications within the Aerospace & Defense, Automotive, Communications, Enterprise, Healthcare and Industrial markets. The Firm employs a private equity approach to ownership that seeks to create value through constructive partnership with its portfolio companies.


Founded in 2016, White Hat Capital Partners LP focuses on concentrated, value-oriented investments in publicly-traded technology companies. The Firm is based in New York.

Founded in 2005, Magnetar Capital is a multi-strategy alternative investment manager with approximately $13.2 billion of assets under management as of June 30, 2022. The firm is based in Evanston, Illinois, with additional offices in New York, London and Houston.
