Omni Partners appoints head of private equity

Tuesday, June 07, 2022
Opalesque Industry Update - Omni Partners LLP, the London based alternative investment management firm, is pleased to announce the appointment of Charles Gallagher-Powell as Head of Private Equity. In this newly created position Charles will report to Omni's founder, Steven Clark.

Charles joins in a full-time role, having worked closely with Omni since 2018 when he was at Umbra Capital where he was a founding partner. Charles has over 11 years of experience in the investment industry having started his career in the Leveraged Finance team at UBS before joining private equity firm XIO Group.

At Omni, Charles will be primarily responsible for building out a lower-mid market private equity business. He is well placed to lead the growth of Omni's private equity business, having already worked alongside Omni on transactions including Fortes Partners, a recruitment consultancy focused firm; and iPlace Global, a customer discovery platform and application dedicated to the house-moving industry.

Over the last few years, Omni has been making select private equity investments as part of its expansion within private markets. With a targeted focus on healthcare, education and training, and technology, the firm aims to capitalise on the opportunities presented by small growth businesses, an area which has been traditionally underserved.

Steven Clark, Founder of Omni Partners, commented: "This is a great next step as we expand our presence within private markets, and we are delighted to welcome Charlie to Omni to build a private equity business with us. His prior experience of working with our team and strong track record will be invaluable to our future growth and to our clients."

Charles Gallagher-Powell, Head of Private Equity added: "Having worked very closely with Steven and Omni over the past couple of years, I am excited to be joining them at such a pivotal time for the firm. We are looking to back exceptional founders and management teams on the next stages of their journeys and believe that the experienced commercial and operational team at Omni can provide unrivalled support to them in doing so."
