Hedge fund flows as measured by the SS&C GlobeOp Capital Movement Index declined 0.62% in January.

"SS&C GlobeOp's Capital Movement Index for January 2022 of -0.62% should be viewed as a strong result in light of the seasonality of outflows, which tend to be relatively heavy in January. For example, on a year-over-year basis, the -0.62% reported compares favorably to the -1.97% reported a year ago and is also the lowest net outflows of any January since 2011," said Bill Stone, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, SS&C Technologies. "While it is too early to evaluate the impact, if any, of the Omicron variant on capital movements, January's results indicate hedge fund asset retention is off to a good start."
