Hedge fund firm Silver Creek Capital hires Brendan Connor from GCM Grosvenor

Wednesday, July 14, 2021
Opalesque Industry Update - Silver Creek Capital Management, a boutique alternative investment manager, announced that Brendan Connor, former Executive Director and a strategy head within the Absolute Return Strategies group at GCM Grosvenor, has joined the firm as a Managing Director.

In this role, Mr. Connor will serve as a portfolio manager for select Silver Creek hedge fund strategies and build upon the firm's longstanding history of managing a diversified portfolio of long-term alpha generators irrespective of market conditions. Based in Seattle, Mr. Connor reports to Art Zaske, Silver Creek's Deputy Chief Investment Officer.

"Brendan is a respected industry executive whose deep cross asset investment and portfolio management expertise will further enhance the growth and capabilities of our multi-faceted investment platform," said Eric Dillon, Chief Executive Officer and Chief Investment Officer of Silver Creek. "We are pleased to welcome him to the firm and look forward to leveraging his track record of sourcing and executing successful investment opportunities to generate strong, risk-adjusted returns for our clients."

Mr. Connor added, "Since its founding over 25 years ago, Silver Creek has built a premier alternative investment platform well-recognized for catering to institutional investors by developing bespoke investment solutions and capitalizing on unique opportunities across hedge fund, private credit, and real assets. I am excited to work closely alongside Eric, Art and the entire Silver Creek team to continue to manage strategies that meet the long-term strategic and tactical objectives of our global clientele."

Mr. Connor brings over a decade of credit, absolute return and alternative investment experience to Silver Creek. He spent the last five years at GCM Grosvenor, where he most recently oversaw the firm's relative value, macro, and quantitative investment strategies.

Previously, he was a Managing Director at multi-family investment manager Hillview Capital Advisors, where he led the team's multi-asset class research and due diligence efforts. He also served as co-portfolio manager of Hillview's credit-focused multi-manager fund, where he opportunistically deployed capital against the backdrop of the recovery in global credit markets post-2008. Mr. Connor received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Hamilton College.
