Catana Capital launches Data Intelligence Fund German Equities

Monday, November 30, 2020
Opalesque Industry Update - After Catana Capital has already successfully launched Artificial Intelligence (AI) products in the past, the German FinTech, a pioneer in Big Data and AI-driven investment, is now launching the LI Data Intelligence Fund German Equities, a long-only equity fund covering a broad German equity universe, as an advisor together with LEHNER INVESTMENTS as the initiator.

"After receiving positive feedback regarding our AI-managed products and in particular our overlay strategies for institutional investors, we were often asked about a long-only product using our Big Data and AI-driven strategies. We would like to meet this demand with the LI Data Intelligence Fund German Equities and thus offer an innovative and competitive, Big Data and AI-powered product covering the German equity market", says Bastian Lechner, founder and CEO of Catana Capital.

The objective of the LI Data Intelligence Fund German Equities is to outperform the long-term performance of the German stock market. To manage the fund, large digital data sets are analyzed using a Big Data approach in combination with Artificial Intelligence. In combination with further information, positive or negative indicators (Big Data Scores) are derived for single stocks and the overall market. These Big Data Scores lead to fully automated trading signals, which are then used to invest in a basket of the 30 best German stocks. Rebalancing takes place every three weeks. The fund advisors do not apply any discretionary investment decisions. The LI Data Intelligence Fund German Equities is attractively priced with only 0.95% management fee p.a., including administrative and custodian bank fees. There is no additional performance fee.

The trading strategy of the LI Data Intelligence Fund German Equities is a further development of the Solactive Data Intelligence Germany Index NTR, which has been launched almost one and a half years ago. This year, the index has already reached +12% and outperformed the CDAX, the measure for the broad German stock market, by approx. 11%.

The fund will generally invest up to 100% in equities and offers strong performance, especially in growth phases, by selecting the stocks with the highest Big Data Scores. The regular rebalancing also allows for a quick rotation between industries, sectors and equity factors.
