Riverwood Capital promotes three to partner

Friday, January 31, 2020
Opalesque Industry Update - Riverwood Capital, a private equity firm that invests in high-growth, middle-market companies in the technology, technology-enabled, and other related industries, announced today the promotions of Harish Belur, Joaquim Lima, and Scott Ransenberg to Partner.

"During the past decade, Harish, Joaquim, and Scott have significantly contributed to building the Riverwood platform, not only as great technology investors but also as experienced operators who have helped our portfolio companies scale their operations," said Francisco Alvarez-Demalde, Co-Founding Partner and Managing Partner at Riverwood Capital. "These promotions are not only a recognition of their hard work, but also reflect their leadership and ability to continue expanding our franchise. Harish, Joaquim and Scott have each embraced and enhanced Riverwood's collaborative culture in our journey to help scale proven mid-size technology companies as they evolve into larger enterprises," said Jeff Parks, Co-Founding Partner and Managing Partner at Riverwood Capital.

Harish joined Riverwood in 2011 after having worked at Cisco Systems where he led engineering architecture and product management for several multibillion-dollar products. Harish earned an MBA from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania and a BTech in EE from the Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi. Harish has enhanced Riverwood's technology assessment capabilities and developed a unique career in enterprise technology investing, becoming a trusted business partner to several successful companies globally. He currently serves on the boards of Druva and Forecast5 Analytics.

Joaquim Lima joined Riverwood in 2011, after having worked as an Investment Officer at the International Finance Corporation, based in Washington, D.C. and São Paulo, Brazil. While at the IFC, Joaquim focused on growth-equity investments in technology, media, and telecom, primarily in the Latin American region. Previously, Joaquim held positions in corporate development, M&A, and investor relations at Brasil Telecom. Joaquim earned an MS in Finance from the Cass Business School at City University London and a BS in Business Administration from the Federal University of Pernambuco. He has been an important contributor to building Riverwood's successful Latin America franchise, while playing an active role in driving growth and executing the Riverwood Scalability Playbook ("RSP"). He currently serves on the boards of Conductor, Mandic, Pixeon, and RD.

Scott Ransenberg joined Riverwood in 2008 as the very first investment team member, after having worked at the Credit Suisse Technology Group based in San Francisco. While at Credit Suisse, Scott worked on a number of financings and M&A assignments for public and private technology companies. Scott earned a BS in Mathematical and Computational Sciences from Stanford University, where he was also a captain of the men's varsity swim team. Scott has been a key contributor to building the Firm since inception, including all aspects of our investment process, recruiting and mentorship, expanding our ecosystem, as well as our model for value creation across the portfolio. Scott is a director of Forecast5 Analytics, MotionPoint, and Navent, and a board observer at Vacasa.
