Shelter Rock Partners with Singapore's Philip Levinson to lead Asian Expansion

Tuesday, April 09, 2019
Opalesque Industry Update - Shelter Rock Capital Advisors today announced it has formed a strategic alliance with Penmount Partners to lead Shelter Rock's expansion in Asia. Penmount's Managing Partner is industry veteran Philip (Lev) Levinson a Singapore-based, real estate focused, capital advisor. He established Blackstone's presence in Australia and, most recently, led the IPO of Cromwell European REIT, a €1 billion diversified REIT with assets across five European countries, listed in Singapore - the first of its kind in Asia.

Walter Stackler, Shelter Rock Founder and Managing Partner, said, "I'm thrilled to partner with Lev as we expand our Asian distribution activities beyond Japan. He has had great success in Asia with leading firms like LaSalle, Park Hill and Blackstone. His thoughtful and creative approach to helping real estate firms grow their businesses is fully aligned with Shelter Rock's philosophy and will further strengthen Shelter Rock's reach with global investors beyond our existing international activities in Latin America, Europe and Japan."

Philip Levinson said: "Last year, Asian capital outflows into EMEA and the US amounted to almost $35bn. We are delighted to be partnering with Shelter Rock to provide our investor base with unique, independent access to opportunities in these markets." He further noted that, "I have been tremendously impressed by the high quality of Shelter Rock's clients and look forward to helping them access capital in Asia."

Founded in 2014, Shelter Rock Capital Advisors is a New York based real estate and real assets capital advisory boutique offering capital raising and related services to investment managers, operators and investors. The firm's customized approach helps clients access the most appropriate sources of capital for a range of property types and geographies.

Penmount Partners is Singapore based specialist capital advisory firm, providing targeted capital markets solutions to both the public and private real estate sectors throughout the region. Clients include REIT's, Private Equity Real Estate Funds and Family Offices.
