Winston & Strawn poaches DLA's Goldstein for project finance practice

Opalesque Industry Update - Winston & Strawn has hired Jason Goldstein as a partner in the firm's New York office. An industry leader in stadium finance, Jason is highly regarded in the areas of project finance and development, as well as real estate finance and management. He joins Winston from DLA Piper.

"Jason is an accomplished attorney and we are excited to welcome him to the firm," said Dominick DeChiara, chair of Winston's Transactions Department. "His exceptional experience, particularly with respect to sports stadium and arena projects, adds depth to our project finance and related practices."

"Jason and I have worked across the table from each other for many years and on some of the largest stadia and arena financings," said Winston Global Project Finance Practice Co-Chair Alan Hoffman. "We now have the opportunity to collaborate and our clients will be impressed by Jason's broad skills and commercial mindset, as well as how he applies his deep knowledge of real estate and project development to resolve issues in a creative and efficient manner."

Jason has significant experience handling complex financing and real estate transactions throughout the United States. His practice focuses on sports stadium and arena projects, including negotiation of project ground leases and development documents, facility use agreements, and financings throughout the lifespan of such projects. In addition, Jason has broad experience in a wide-range of real estate matters, including representation of commercial lenders in conventional mortgage and construction lending, workouts and restructuring of loans.

Jason received his J.D. from the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law and his B.A. from Haverford College.
