eVestment acquires RedQuarry, a research tool for institutional investors

Thursday, October 04, 2018
Opalesque Industry Update - eVestment, a global leader in institutional investor data and analytics, has acquired RedQuarry. RedQuarry offers an easy-to-use, cloud-based investment research management solution that seamlessly retains notes, ranking assessments and documents while offering consistency in the way information is stored, retrieved and shared.

RedQuarry was founded in 2014 by Chris Tinsley and Jared Potter. Tinsley, Potter, co-CEO Patrick Adrian and the rest of the firm's staff will join eVestment operating out of their current Tacoma office. The team's unique blend of investment consulting and software development experience positions it to continue building innovative solutions specifically tailored for the institutional investment community.

RedQuarry's proprietary software, which will be rebranded as eVestment Research Management, equips clients with powerful tools to manage their investment research process more efficiently by providing:

· an easy-to-use platform for firms to store and organize their research, documents, notes and artifacts,

· an infrastructure that creates a clear, compliance-ready audit trail of activities,

· tools that allow users to easily collaborate and share their research, analysis and reports, and

· the ability to integrate data sources that are critical to the manager research process.

"eVestment is the backbone of institutional investor and consultant research," said eVestment COO Gene Luciani. "Investors, consultants and other industry professionals spend countless hours identifying trends and opportunities to make the best possible investment allocations and recommendations. However, as the volume of data has increased, organizing, reviewing and sharing research, opinions and analysis have become increasingly difficult. With this acquisition, we now have an exciting solution to help our clients overcome these challenges."

"eVestment is an industry leader in the institutional investment community," said RedQuarry co-founder Tinsley. "The opportunity to join such a great company and combine our research management platform with eVestment's data and analytics will be a tremendous benefit to our clients."
