Tuesday, June 19, 2018
Opalesque Industry Update - Marc Lorin, a 28-year veteran of the investment management and managed futures industry, has joined Coquest Advisors LLC, a subsidiary of Coquest Inc., as Director of Strategic Relations. In that position, Mr. Lorin will be responsible for developing new business, working with service provider partners, supporting existing clients and helping to identify new managers for the Coquest team.

Lorin brings with him deep experience in managed futures and the brokerage arena, having spent much of his career with Crédit Agricole Calyon Financial, Newedge USA and Société Générale Newedge, in various lead positions, including Acting Head of Alternative Investment Solutions at Newedge USA. In that role, he was responsible for overseeing the sales team and approach to hedge fund managers and institutional investors, such as pension funds and family offices.

With almost three decades in the alternatives investment and financial services industry, Mr. Lorin is well-versed in all areas of the business, ranging from investment management to structuring funds to institutional sales focusing on managed futures and global macro hedge fund strategies.

"We are very fortunate have Marc join Coquest Advisors," said Coquest Managing Director G. Maxwell Eagye. "Not only does he have the wide breadth of experience in managing teams that focus on CTAs, hedge funds and other institutional investments, he understands the sales and marketing mechanism of our business. And having worked for Newedge and others, Marc knows how to manage our growing network of CTAs and third-party relationships and how to develop new business."

Mr. Lorin most recently was president and co-CIO of Liquid Strategies for Fort Rock Asset Management, an alternative assets investment manager with more than $100 million under management. A native French speaker, Mr. Lorin also headed up eBrokerage and Sales for Crédit Agricole Calyon Financial Inc. for 18 years. He began his career on the Chicago Mercantile Exchange floor as an account executive for Drexel Burnham Lambert.
