Predata hires new head of financial markets

Opalesque Industry Update - Predata has hired Mars Spencer as VP of Financial Markets. Mars joins the Predata team with 20 years of experience, most recently in institutional trading software and technology sales and business development.

In his role, Mars will be responsible for growing the financial markets vertical and empowering Predata's financial customers, including hedge fund traders and portfolio managers, with predictive analytics to assess and act upon geopolitical, security and market-moving event risk.

Mars joins Predata from FIS' Global Trading group. As a Senior Sales Executive, he led execution algorithm sales to quantitative trading desks. Prior to this role, he was Vice President of Sales at Perseus, providing low-latency infrastructure solutions to high-frequency trading firms.

Earlier in his career, Mars worked as a management consultant, investment banker, chief financial officer, and start-up advisor. He was born in Brazil and has spent most of his life in New York City. He graduated with B.S. degrees in Economics and International Business from Manhattan College in Riverdale.
