Prologue Capital names global head of strategy, research

Tuesday, September 22, 2015
Opalesque Industry Update - Prologue Capital Management, an alternative investment adviser that manages a discretionary macro and fixed income relative value strategy, today announced that James (Jim) McCormick has joined the firm as Global Head of Strategy and Research.

McCormick, 47, will oversee research to help formulate investment strategy and will be based in the firm's London office, reporting into Founding Partners, David Lofthouse and Graham Walsh. He replaces Tomas Jelf.

He joins Prologue Capital with more than 20 years of experience, most recently as Head of Asset Allocation Research for Barclays in London. In this capacity, he was the managing editor of the widely circulated Equity Gilt Study and the Global Macro Daily.

"We are delighted to welcome Jim to the team. We expect his experience and insight to make a considerable contribution to our investment strategy,” said Lofthouse.

Prior to Barclays, McCormick was chief strategist at Comac Capital in addition to holding senior management roles in research and strategy at Nomura, Citigroup and Lehman Brothers. While at Lehman, he was an early pioneer in the development of smart beta systematic macro strategies. He received an MBA in Finance and Economics from New York University and a BSc from Pennsylvania State University.
