In the week ending 06 January 2017, a study a study of mutual fund performance in 2016 by research firm Birinyi Associates runs against the conventional wisdom that size would "kill" (or negatively impact) performance, at least in part. In 2017, the same old hands are expected to impress within the hedge fund industry. Equity and macro hedge funds are expected to bounce back after a tough year; more fund exposures are seen leaning towards energy investments this year.
