Hedge fund inflows extend to eight months as August returns add 0.83%

Hedge funds generated a gross return of 0.83% in August 2026, according to the flash estimate of the SS&C GlobeOp Hedge Fund Performance Index published by SS&C Technologies Holdings (Nasdaq: SSNC). The result brings the index to 8.63% for the year to date and 14.90% over the last twelve months, all on a gross basis. Life-to-date performance since the January 2006 inception now stands at 380.45%.

Capital flows stayed positive for an eighth consecutive month. The SS&C GlobeOp Capital Movement Index advanced 0.65% in September, taking the cumulative index to 133.10 points - up 0.65 points on August and 5.50 points over the past twelve months. That is also the twelve-month high for the measure, against a low of 127.49 recorded in October 2025.

Bill Stone, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of SS&C Technologies, described the September reading as consistent with the longer-term pattern of positive flows for the period, and said the run of "eight straight months of positive inflows" pointed to continued investor appetite for the diversification, risk-adjusted returns and downside protection that hedge funds offer.
