Bailey McCann, Opalesque New York: Tacora Capital Management, a $1.5 billion, woman-owned and led asset-based lender, has opened its new strategy, Residential Real Estate Financing Opportunities, to new investment. The fund, structured as a REIT, launched in July 2025 with internal capital and allocations from a limited number of Tacora's institutional investors.
"We believe that the residential mortgage market is undergoing a long-term transformation, driven by a downward trend in home affordability and advancements in technology," said Keri Findley, CEO and CIO of Tacora Capital Management. "The proliferation of new ways to structure and service mortgages have increased complexity, precipitating opportunities to identify and capture the mispricing of real estate-linked assets and meaningfully improve servicing," she added. "These conditions provide an enduring opportunity to apply our expertise in creative deal construction for innovative companies and hard-to-finance loans."
The REIT aims to deliver capital appreciation, stable cash flow, and capital preservation in a variable interest rate environment through the inverse relationship between the performance of mortgage servicing rights and home equity. Tacora will strive to enhance this long-horizon all-weather construction with opportunistic investments in bonds and loans available at distressed prices in the secondary market.
The strategy is targeting returns in the mid to high teens....................... To view our full article Click here
