Bailey McCann, Opalesque New York: ARR Investment Partners, a $60m London-based investment advisor has launched a Cayman-domiciled Global Long/Short Equity Fund. This marks an expansion for ARR's strategy at a time when its flagship long/short program is up 11% through the end of January.
ARR has picked up strong institutional support since its founding in 2015. Fasanara Open Quant Fund is a backer through an SMA. The fund says several other institutional investors are backing the strategy also through SMAs.
ARR's flagship strategy is headed by Christian Putz, the firm's CEO and Founder. Putz brings 20 years of experience in equity investing, having worked at Man Group and Kazimir Partners, an American-owned hedge fund based in Moscow.
The strategy takes a quantmental approach, looking at a universe of 7000 global stocks. The trading program looks for stocks that fit one of four core themes - rebounders, dynamic profit growth, bubble stocks and structural losers. Positions are crafted based on those key areas and risk is managed through a combination of managed futures, ETFs and position sizing.
"The market in 2026 is a world in which old rule books no longer work. We see a regime change both in the global order and market participation, creating extreme dispersion," Putz said.
