Blue Owl Capital launches $850m debut interval fund focused on alternative credit

Blue Owl Capital has launched its first interval fund, raising $850 million from global private wealth clients in one of the largest fund debuts of its kind.

The Blue Owl Alternative Credit Fund (OWLCX) is designed to expand access to private credit markets, which institutional investors have traditionally dominated. The strategy will invest across asset-backed credit opportunities supported by contractual cash flows from both financial and hard assets. By diversifying across amortizing pools, the fund aims to reduce correlation with traditional credit investments while targeting consistent income streams.

Structured as a registered interval fund, OWLCX will allow daily purchases, monthly distributions, and quarterly repurchase offers. It will be managed by Blue Owl Alternative Credit Advisors II LLC, which employs more than 65 professionals and a dedicated data science team. Blue Owl's alternative credit business has a nearly two-decade track record, deploying over $24 billion across about 950 transactions, with the majority of capital invested through repeat counterparties.

Sean Connor, president and CEO of Global Private Wealth at Blue Owl, said the launch extends private credit access to individual investors. "OWLCX reflects Blue Owl's commitment to democratizing alternative assets in a way that aligns with the evolving demands of today's private wealth investors," he said.
