Laxman Pai, Opalesque Asia: Blue Owl Capital has launched its first interval fund, raising $850 million from global private wealth clients in one of the largest fund debuts of its kind.
The Blue Owl Alternative Credit Fund (OWLCX) is designed to expand access to private credit markets, which institutional investors have traditionally dominated. Blue Owl's alternative credit business has a nearly two-decade track record, deploying over $24 billion across about 950 transactions, with the majority of capital invested through repeat counterparties.
Sean Connor, president and CEO of Global Private Wealth at Blue Owl, said the launch extends private credit access to individual investors.
