Form PF amendments compliance date extended to October 1st

The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, together with the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission, voted on June 11 to extend the compliance date until Oct. 1, 2025, for the amendments to Form PF.

Form PF is the confidential reporting form for certain SEC-registered investment advisers to private funds, including those that also are registered with the CFTC as commodity pool operators or commodity trading advisers.

The SEC began requiring Form PF with the passage of the Dodd-Frank Act (section 404 and 406). Dodd-Frank, signed into law by former President Obama, was created in response to the 2008 financial crisis and was designed to reduce the excessive risk-taking that led to the crisis. The first filing of Form PF was in 2012.

The current amendments to Form PF were adopted in February 2024. The compliance date for these amendments was originally March 12, 2025, but was then extended to June 12, 2025.

According to UMB, this amendment requires investment managers to disclose substantially more information than previously, such as:
