Laxman Pai, Opalesque Asia: Pan-European private debt asset manager Apera Asset Management has completed its third private debt fundraise, securing total commitments of €2.9 billion ($3.3 billion).
Apera Private Debt Fund III exceeded its original hard cap and raised more than twice as much as the previous vintage, which closed in July 2022 at €1.27 billion, according to a press release from the debt investor, which provides private capital solutions to lower mid-market companies.
Apera's Private Debt strategy focuses on senior secured unitranche financings across Europe, the release elaborated.
"Apera's proven strategy is resonating with a continuously growing institutional investor base, with Fund III receiving strong support from existing and new investors who recognize the appeal and significance of the European lower-mid market," it said.
Apera's institutional investor base has broadened considerably and now includes pension funds, insurers, sovereign wealth funds, and endowments worldwide, particularly from Northern Europe, Asia, and North America.
