Northleaf amasses $1bn for global cross-capital structure private credit strategy

Northleaf Capital Partners, a global private-markets investment firm, closed its third private credit fund, raising over $1bn for Northleaf Private Credit III (NPC III) and related managed accounts.

The milestone pushes Northleaf's private credit platform past $6.5bn in total assets, the North American firm said in a press release.

NPC III focuses on mid-market private equity-backed lending and asset-based specialty finance, targeting opportunities across the capital structure. The fund provides investors with exposure to both senior and junior private credit investments, emphasizing strong contractual cash yield, conservative leverage, and robust lender protections.

"NPC III has a unique value proposition for investors focusing on delivering strong risk-adjusted returns by investing across the capital structure in mid-market private equity-backed companies and asset-based specialty finance portfolios," said David Ross, Managing Director and Head of Private Credit at Northleaf.

NPC III has already invested more than 40 percent of its capital into a diversified portfolio of investments with strong contractual cash yield, conservatively levered capital structures, and robust lender protections, according to the release. Most recently, Northleaf acted as co-lead arranger on a senior secured loan to support Five Arrows' acquisition of KEV Group, a cloud-based educational software company.
