Jun Bei Liu Opalesque Geneva for New Managers: Ten Cap, a boutique investment management firm based in Sydney, has just been launched by the fund's lead portfolio manager Jun Bei Liu and CEO Jason Todd.
Jun Bei Liu was, until January, lead portfolio manager at Tribeca Investment Partners for almost 10 years. Jason Todd was previously CIO at Commonwealth Bank and head of wealth management at the Macquarie Group.
In October, Liu unveiled plans to step out on her own, telling InvestorDaily the move came amid a "fantastic opportunity" in the current investment landscape for active managers who can step up and deliver. She said she was migrating the $1.5bn Tribeca Alpha Plus Fund and that it would continue to be managed under her guidance with the same strategy at Ten Cap.
"At ~$1.5 billion, it is the largest ever launch of a fundamental long/short (equity only) fund in Australia," Todd wrote on LinkedIn.
