Alfonso Peccatiello to launch global macro hedge fund on Falcon's platform

Alfonso Peccatiello, a macroeconomic strategist is set to launch a global macro hedge fund on London-based Falcon's platform.

The fund will exploit opportunities in global interest rates and currencies and is scheduled to start trading in January 2025. Peccatiello has already secured $80m in soft commitments with a target of reaching $100m in AuM by Q1 2025.

"Macro strategies aim at diversifying investors' portfolio from macroeconomic volatility - and there will be plenty over the next decade," he told Opalesque. "An irresponsible, pro-cyclical use of fiscal deficits coupled with geopolitical uncertainties is likely to generate more volatile macro cycles ahead."

Peccatiello, who is based in Amsterdam, The Netherlands, is the founder & CEO of The Macro Compass, a research firm that boasts thousands of paying subscribers, including top institutional hedge funds and real money investors.

Before launching The Macro Compass, Alfonso was the head of investments for a $20bn portfolio at ING Germany.
