Laxman Pai, Opalesque Asia: TPT Investment Management (TPTIM), a fiduciary manager dedicated to investing in the long-term interests of pension scheme members, has launched a GBP650m ($865m) private credit fund for pension schemes.
According to a press release from the investment manager belonging to a UK pensions group, the fund is a collective investment vehicle for UK pension schemes and has been seeded with capital from TPT Retirement Solutions' defined benefit (DB) master trust.
The fund, which is TPTIM's largest fund since its creation last year, will focus on a broad spectrum of private investment opportunities across the credit market and aims to enable pension schemes to immediately achieve scale benefits across asset classes by aggregating with the assets in the master trusts.
The firm launched the previous two funds with combined assets of over GBP800m in conjunction with Carne Global Fund Managers in June this year. The previous funds sought to provide pension schemes with access to real assets and secure income investment opportunities.
As per the release, access to the new TPTIM funds is available through its fiduciary management service via the new DB Connect proposition that allows third-party trustees to benefit from TPT's pensions and investment expertise while retaining the trusteeship of their scheme.
