LGT Capital amasses $2bn for new private equity and credit vehicles

LGT Capital Partners, a global specialist in alternative investing, has raised $2bn in assets for two new semi-liquid open-ended investment vehicles, adding to its private equity and private credit fund range.

The expansion will provide institutional investors and wealth management clients greater access to fully funded private market strategies. The vehicles will align closely with the asset manager's flagship LGT Endowment evergreen portfolio, which was launched in 1998.

According to a media release from the Switzerland-headquartered alternative investment specialist, the open-ended private equity strategy invests through diversified portfolios of secondaries and co-investments.

The portfolio has been built up over the last two years, investing after recent private equity market peaks, and today has over 750 underlying portfolio companies. The strategy benefits from the firm's investment relationships with over 700 private equity sponsors globally.

The private credit strategy invests through a combination of yield-oriented and opportunistic credit, through both corporate and asset-backed strategies. The dedicated credit team benefits from the ability to source investment opportunities from the firm's broader platform. The multi-strategy offering has a flexible approach to seeking attractive risk-adjusted returns across the credit spectrum.
