LatAm investment bank BTG Pactual racks up $1bn for strategic capital investment strategy

BTG Pactual Asset Management, an opportunistic investment strategy focused on asset-oriented businesses of Latin American banking major BTG Pactual, has raised more than US$1bn for its opportunistic asset-focused fund strategy.

The BTG Pactual Strategic Capital (Strat Cap) investment strategy closed on more than US$ 1 billion in total capital commitments, inclusive of US$ 395 million to a Fund LP and over US$ 600 million in co-investments, said a media release from the global investment platform with US$ 177 billion in AUM.

James Frank, Head of Strat Cap at BTG Pactual, said: "Since the launch of the strategy, we have demonstrated how our collaborative, partnership-based approach to working with sponsors, management teams, and business owners can drive value. We look forward to continuing to serve this growing marketplace."

Strat Cap is a strategy within BTG Pactual's International Private Markets (IPM) group and is an opportunistic investment strategy focused on asset-oriented businesses, bringing a partnership approach to investing in both sponsor-backed and non-sponsor businesses, the release said.

"Strat Cap has a flexible mandate with an ability to invest across the capital structure, from common equity through senior secured debt, allowing solutions to be tailored to individual business or transaction requirements," it said.
