Laxman Pai, Opalesque Asia for New Managers:

The Teacher Retirement System of Texas (TRS) and Employees Retirement System of Texas (ERS) announced the Emerging Manager Conference which is designed to connect asset allocators and Emerging Managers in a virtual environment at no cost to the managers.

The conference will take place on Wednesday, February 28th.

"Traditionally hosted in Austin, TX, the Emerging Manager Conference will be brought to you virtually for 2024. TRS and ERS are globally recognized institutional asset managers with combined assets under management of more than $230 billion," said a statement.

"On Wednesday, February 28, 2024 the virtual conference will go live. The conference will showcase the 5th annual Allocator Hall, giving GPs direct access to asset allocators. In addition, going virtual gives attendees 30 days to access content on-demand," it said.

According to organizers, the 2024 conference will contain asset class specific content to help managers meet the challenge of working with institutional investors, as well as gain industry-leading insights and best practices.

Research suggests that Emerging Managers outperform some of their larger counterparts, making them a great contender for allocations from pension plans, family offices, endowments and other institutional investors.
