B. G., Opalesque Geneva: Pimco, Franklin Templeton, BlackRock and T Rowe Price are among the big fund houses that have launched actively managed ETFs in recent weeks, reports the Financial Times.
An actively managed ETF is a form of exchange-traded fund that has a manager or team making decisions on the underlying portfolio allocation, otherwise not adhering to a passive investment strategy.
Pimco launched two active fixed-income ETFs, the PIMCO Multisector Bond Active ETF, managed by Dan Ivascyn, group CIO, and the PIMCO Ultra Short Government Active ETF, managed by Jerome Schneider, managing director.
At Franklin Templeton, CIO Ed Perks took on the new Franklin Income Focus ETF.
T Rowe Price debuted their Price Capital Appreciation Equity ETF, run by CIO David Giroux, and four other actively-managed ETFs, overseen by vice president Jodi Love.
