How to invest in the Nordics' buoyant renewable energy markets

The renewable energy capacity in the Nordic countries has been growing steadily during the past ten years, and those countries have only been minimally affected by the shift in Russian gas supply. They can be a destination, as well as serve as a model for those investors looking to put their money into infrastructures of the future.

One such investor is CapMan, an investment firm founded in 1989, headquartered and listed in Helsinki, Finland, with about €5bn in private equity, real estate and infrastructure funds. They have recently opened a second fund that is solely focused on renewable energy infrastructure.

Jonathan Aiach, CapMan's Paris-based director, talks to Opalesque about the two renewable energy infrastructure funds' past and future investments.

Opalesque: What are the funds' goals?

Jonathan Aiach: The firm is trying to implement the EU goals with a specific Nordic angle. We are working towards creating more renewable energy sources for industries and communities in Europe and in the Nordics in particular.
