Alts manager Medalist Partners acquires a minority stake in Semper Capital to tap opportunities in structured credit

Medalist Partners, which specializes in private credit, has acquired a minority stake in Semper Capital to extend its offerings to the mass market.

Medalist currently manages approximately $2.2 billion in assets across strategies in asset-based private credit, structured credit, and collateralized loan obligations (CLOs).

Semper Capital is a minority and veteran-owned enterprise specializing in structured credit currently managing approximately $1.0 billion in assets, primarily in mutual funds and separately managed accounts (SMAs).

According to a joint media release, they have formed a strategic partnership to co-invest across structured credit opportunities while leveraging complementary investment expertise across both platforms.

Under the partnership, Medalist will provide investment support and institutional resources to bolster the existing capabilities of Semper, while the firms plan to launch new products together in the future as demand for alternatives from retail investors increases globally
