Laxman Pai, Opalesque Asia: HighVista Strategies, an employee-owned boutique firm focusing on alpha-oriented alternative investment strategies, has raised $450 million to invest in niche private-credit deals.
The Boston-based firm that invests across multiple alternative strategies said in a press release that HighVista Opportunistic Private Credit Fund II had strong support from existing clients including pension funds, endowments and foundations, and family offices.
Continuing with the strategy that HighVista pursued in its predecessor credit fund, Fund II will take a multi-strategy approach and invest in real estate-backed credits, corporate credits, and uncorrelated credit opportunities, the release said.
"HighVista has experience investing in a broad range of specialized credit markets, several of which have become more attractive in the current economic environment," it said.
