US-based start-ups grab lion's share of the global VC funding in Q1 2022

Start-ups in the US held the lion's share of the global venture capital (VC) funding landscape and accounted for 38.7% and 46.2% of the total number of deals announced globally during Q1 2022 and the corresponding deal value, respectively, said a study.

According to GlobalData a total of 3,029 VC funding deals were announced in the US between January and March 2022, while the disclosed funding value of these deals stood at $69.7 billion.

Though the US accounted for the highest VC funding deals by value and volume globally, deal activity in the country declined in Q1 2022 compared to Q1 2021, said the report.
