Laxman Pai, Opalesque Asia: The New York-based, 27-year-old, global software investment firm Insight Partners has closed its twelfth flagship fund with $20 billion in capital commitments.
The fund marks the Insight Partners' largest fundraise to date which received strong support from both long-standing and notable new investors. The sum is the firm's largest fundraise to date and is more than twice the size of its previous flagship fund, which closed at $9.5 billion in April 2020.
The private equity and venture capital firm said in a press release that closing of this new fundraise brings its regulatory assets under management to over $90 billion.
Fund XII is also one of the largest global fundraises to date dedicated to investing in high-growth technology, software, and internet startup and scale-up companies. Insight's flagship funds typically invest between $5 million and $500 million in a company, with the ability to invest from the earliest institutional check to IPO.
