Archive Capital launches

Bailey McCann, Opalesque New York for New Managers:

A new consultancy focused on helping with manager selection and allocations to liquid alternatives has launched. Ireland-based Archive Capital is led by Alan Dunne who was previously with Abbey Capital.

Dunne tells Opalesque New Managers that the idea for Archive grew out of conversations he was having with investors and others about how to allocate for the future.

"I think there's a lot of concern around the future of the 60/40 portfolio," he says. "We're seeing more interest in liquid alternatives, specifically solutions that are going to generate returns in environments like we're seeing right now with low yields and high inflation."

Archive Capital will provide research and consultative support to its clients. Archive will focus on managed futures, trend following, and global macro strategies. The firm is working with family offices and ultra high net worth clients on how to include allocations to liquid alternatives in these three areas. Research coverage will include macroeconomic and market analysis, hedge fund manager selection, and the use of quantitative strategies in asset allocation.

According to Dunne, investors are starting to think through how to re-allocate portfolios so that they reflect the current market environment. That may mean changes to the fixed income portfolio to account for persistentl......................
