SALT announces agenda, safety protocols for upcoming New York event

Friday, August 20, 2021

SkyBridge Capital's SALT Conference is returning as an in-person event in New York from September 13-15. This year's event will focus on three main pillars FinTech/digital assets; healthcare and biotechnology, and ESG.

According to John Darsie, managing director for SALT at SkyBridge, these three areas are indicative of what investors are most interested in right now. "Having the event in New York gives us an opportunity to bring in leading experts and money managers that are focused on these topics and we think that provides value," Darsie tells Opalesque.

The recently announced speakers list includes ARK Invest's Cathie Wood, Sam Bankman Fried of FTX, and Andy Slavitt of the Biden Administration's COVID response team -- among others.

SALT has also put a number of new safety protocols in place in response to the pandemic. The in-person event will be held at the Javitz Center Expansion, a new building that is part of the Javitz events complex. SALT will be the first event held in the expansion, which includes a large outdoor roof terrace that will serve as the event's exhibition hall and networking area. The Javtiz Center Expansion includes the highest grade air filtration available and will have other safety protocols in place including regular cleaning and sanitizing throughout the event. Proof of vaccination will be required to enter the event in coordination with local ordinances in New York City and masking will be required in all indoor common areas.

In addition, SALT has partnered with the iConnections platform to offer virtual attendance to those who can't or don't wish to attend in person. Users of the platform will be able to view all of the panels. Allocators and managers will also be able to use the platform for virtual investment meetings, meaning that users won't miss out on the opportunity to network.

So far, it seems people are on board, SkyBridge says over 1000 people are registered to attend the event. "We wanted to be able to offer a hybrid conference this year so that we could be as inclusive as possible," Darsie says. All participants will have access to the iConnections platform for both networking with investors and viewing content, with access beginning September 1 and stretching into October.

Registration is available here.
