New crypto fund Argentium on a hiring spree

Following the announcement of Paola Mantovani joining London-based Argentium as a Principal and Head of Investor Relations, the systematic crypto arb hedge fund appointed a Head of Business Development for Australia/New Zealand.

According to a company statement, Simon Winston Smith has joined Argentium as a Principal and Head of Business Development for Australia/New Zealand. Simon has over 20 years of experience in investment banking, most recently as a partner in an investment banking boutique operating in the Asia Pacific.

Before this, he held the role of Chief Operating Officer and Head of Capital Markets at Greenway Capital. Before Greenway, he was Managing Director and Co-Head of Japanese Equities at JPMorgan Chase in Tokyo. Simon started his career with Goldman Sachs & Co where he went on to establish and lead the Equities Division in Australia.

Paul Frost-Smith, CEO of Argentium, said: "I am delighted to work with Simon again, after our time at JPMorgan together in Tokyo. My impression is that we can deliver a lot to the institutional market and family offices in Australia and New Zealand and Simon knows these folks well. We now have all of our bases covered".
