LGT raises $6bn across two secondaries funds

The global specialist in alternative investing LGT Capital Partners has raised $6bn to capture investment opportunities in private equity secondaries.

The Swiss alternative investment specialist said in a press release that it is all set to hold final closes for Crown Secondaries Special Opportunities II (CSSO II) and Crown Global Secondaries V (CGS V) on 31 May 2021, with $6bn raised across both strategies.

"The fund will invest across the whole spectrum of investment situations including single assets solutions, private equity fund solutions, and the diversified portfolios of limited partnership interests," said the release.

LGT Capital Partners' second program focusing on single asset solutions and concentrated fund solutions, Crown Secondaries Special Opportunities II (CSSO II), is closing on 31 May 2021 at its hard cap of USD1.5 billion.

As early as 2015, LGT Capital Partners launched its predecessor program to access this newly identified set of opportunities in private equity secondaries.

LGT Capital Partners' dedicated secondaries program Crown Global Secondaries V (CGS V) was also strongly sought after by investors. It is closing at its hard cap of USD4.5 billion on 31 May 2021.
