Gordian Capital hires Phakawee Phatiwet as in-house counsel

Gordian Capital, the Asia based independent fund platform specialist announced the hiring of Ms. Phakawee Phatiwet as in-house counsel.

According to a press release from the fund platform with licensed operations in Singapore, Tokyo, and Melbourne, Ms. Phatiwet was most recently an Assistant Director in the Financial Markets Development Department at the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS).

"She holds two Master's degrees, one a Master of Laws (Honours), International Economic Law and the second a Master of Laws, Private and Business law, as well as a Bachelor of Laws (Honours)," Gordian, which manages US$5.6 billion said in the release.

After a short stint at Allen & Overy, she joined the Securities and Exchange Commission of Thailand (SEC) where she worked as a Legal Officer (Securities Regulation Department) and then as Executive Officer.

At the MAS, she contributed to the launch of the Variable Capital Companies (VCC) framework by preparing public consultation papers and subsidiary legislation, reviewing general and technical feedback, putting forward recommendations, promoting the industry's adoption, as well as working towards enhancements of the framework.

Phakawee is a Thai native speaker, fluent in English, and an intermediate French speaker.
